Had the wonderful experience of conducting for Raquel Welch at Caesar’s Palace. Great band, great dancers, and the irrepressible Raquel in Bob Mackie gowns made this a real pleasure on the eyes and ears. It was 1979, and I was commuting from L.A. every day while scoring “Getting Ready for the Main Event” for the Barbra Streisand, Ryan O’Neill comedy “The Main Event.”
