Happy Birthday to Alan Silvestri, a great visionary, husband, father, winemaker, pilot, friend,… the list is long, but of course the terrific award-winning composer!

Alan Silvestri first teamed with Robert Zemeckis on their breakthrough feature, “Romancing the Stone” and subsequently collaborated on 10 additional releases, including  “Forrest Gump,” “Death Becomes Her,”  “Cast Away,” and “The Polar Express.”

The prolific and rangy composer’s credits also include the rom-coms “Father of the Bride,” “What Women Want,” and “Maid in Manhattan;”  action blockbusters “Predator”  and “The Avengers;”  neo-westerns “Young Guns 2” and “The Quick and the Dead;” two of the “Night at the Museum” movies; and the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner mega hit “The Bodyguard.”

Silvestri’s latest collaboration with Zemeckis, “The Walk,” starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as French high-wire artist Philippe Petit, is due out in October.
