In 1979, I was pleased for the opportunity to put together a band and do a couple of arrangements for B.B. King’s appearance on the Captain and Tennille Songbook TV special. At the end of the second chart, B.B. turned to his music director and said, “Now THAT’S what my horn charts should sound like.” But the charts were simple; it was all about the wonderful musicians in that terrific band. The beginning of a wonderful friendship. Get well, B.B.
